Getting There & Away

Vienna is conveniently located in the “heart” of Europe and therefore easily accessible via plane, train, and car. Cheap flights can be found via search engines like CheckFelix. Some budget airlines such as RyanAir do not fly to Vienna, but rather to Bratislava (Slovakia), which is located about 80kms away from Vienna. There are regular connections from Bratislava Airport to Vienna, costing less than 10€.

There are various options for getting from the Vienna airport to the city, such as the Airport Bus, the public trains, and the slightly faster City Airport Train.

(International) trains from Germany can be found booked here and Austrian trains here.

Accommodation

Vienna offers a wide range of accommodation, ranging from dorm-style hostels to luxury hotels in the inner city. You can search for hotels using e.g. HRS and Booking.com.

Public Transport

Vienna offers a dense public transport network, which is usually preferable to a rental car. A week-ticket costs 14€ and is valid within the whole city, for both underground transportation and buses.
